It's been a dream. He's been happy and smiley and sharing little smiles with me. We've been all in each other's personal space at times which has been nice. But whenever the threat arose that I might try to impose myself on his lunch hour or after-work time, he disappeared. Tonight we ended the Opera, and had fun at strike as usual. Once I teased him, and scratched his knee in childish apology, but it was the least of the touching I wanted to do. When we were done, I hung out and waited for him, and he didn't send me away as usual. However, right as the call was over, an old family friend who was on the call asked "How is your Mom & Dad" and for the next 30 minutes I was trapped in a conversation (monologue) with her about her issues with getting schooling for her toddler. At the end of the 30 minutes, I was in the parking deck at my car and was able to see that Jake had left, without saying goodbye. Without my having the chance I wanted to have of giving him a hug or saying I'd miss him. He had an important bar to get to, couldn't let me get in the way of that.

So I guess I'm sort of sad and confused. About what to do with this Jake situation. I guess as far as he is concerned we are just friends.
